<p>* Application range is 3 to 300 mm (0.12 to 11.81&#8243;). With an extensive range of accessories, the M1 Star™ MBG can be configured to measure at depths of more than 500 mm and measure bores that are perpendicular to the axis of insertion.</p>
<p>* The wide range of modular components makes it possible to configure the bore gauge to meet all measuring needs.</p>
<p>* The bore gauge can be totally retooled or reconditioned by simply replacing the nosepiece and contacts. A mechanical positioning system automatically ensures alignment between the nosepiece and contacts.</p>
<p>* Due to the mechanical transmission system having an extensive range of accuracy, only one master is needed for zero setting.</p>
<p>* The Mechanical Bore Gauge is accurate, robust and reliable. Only periodic cleaning of the mechanical measurement-transmission area is necessary.</p>

<p><a title="Manual Gauging Station for Multidimensional Inspection of Conrods" href="http://www.marposs.com/product.php/eng/ndt_camshaft">Camshafts for automobile engines</a> are manufactured using a variety of methods.They can cause a variety of quality defects, such as:</p>
<p>* porosity</p>
<p>* hardness cracks</p>
<p>* casting shrinkage, cavities and holes</p>
<p>* missing material</p>
<p>Subsequent grinding can also cause cracks or grinding burns (soft spots). They are caused by variations during grinding operations such as changes in grinding speed, changes in grinding wheel/workpiece position and by the effects of the coolant used.</p>
<p>In the past, attempts to automate test procedures have often failed.</p>
<p>B) Solution</p>
<p>Complex geometry&#8217;s such as camlobes can now be easily tested with standard Marposs N.D. probes. The Marposs N.D. inspection method is based on the Eddy Current technology. It is the only method capable of performing N.D. inspections automatically. For this reason, it can be easily installed into a production line for 100% inspection.</p>
<p>The traditional testing procedure, which is usually performed with magnetic powder and/or human evaluation, can be now reduced in terms of inspection time and overall cost.</p>
<p>Cracks as small as 100 microns in depth can be detected, dependent upon the surface finishing and material homogeneity</p>

<p align="left">The bench gauge is dedicated to the final or interoperational inspection of a single bushing type part (vertical axis, radial symmetry and weighing less than 15 Kg/33 lb).</p>
<p>The part is manually loaded and referred on a nosepiece or a descending pivoting arm.</p>
<p align="left">The most recent Marposs measuring transmissions belonging to the AMA line are utilized in the gauge design (made with non-magnetic stainless steel) and with Red Crown pencil probes. These measuring components are mounted to a counterplate fixed to the part support plate by three columns.</p>
<p>This mechanical solution completely isolates the measuring structure from the weight of the part, assuring the highest metrological performances.</p>
<p>If required by the application, the measuring transmissions can be provided with pneumatic retraction. The actuation of the rear measuring group can be manual or pneumatic.</p>

<p>The bench is dedicated to the final or interoperational inspection of a single part type weighing less than 6 Kg.</p>
<p>The measuring components are realized with the most recent Marposs measuring transmissions belonging to the AMA line (made in non-magnetic stainless steel) and with Red Crown pencil probes.</p>
<p>The workpiece is manually loaded in the vertical position and referred between centers that are either fixed or motorized.</p>

<p>The vertical solution provides a much smaller foot print which takes up a limited amount of surface space as compared to the horizontal solution. In addition, vertical loading of the part eliminates part and structural deformation, as well as any bending in the reference centers and helps part dragging in dynamic applications.</p>
<p>The bench, engineered for crankshafts weighing more than 6 Kg, can also check camshafts, gear shafts, rotors and axle shafts.</p>
<p>The measuring components are comprised of the Marposs measuring transmission devices belonging to the AMA line (made of non-magnetic stainless steel) and Red Crown pencil probes. Other cell types can be used in special applications. The bench gauge is dedicated to the inter-operational inspection of a single part type after end face milling, turning, pin bearing milling and grinding. The work piece is loaded manually or by a manual gantry between centers in the vertical position. The centers are either fixed (static measurement) or motorized (dynamic measurement) and the measuring stations are brought onto the part by manual pivoting arms.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: #006699; font-size: x-small;"><span style="color: #000000;">The plug guarantees reliability and increased productivity of the process by automation of the process itself inclusive of the part measurement and closed loop feedback to the machine tool (compensation of tool wear, improvement of overall machining time and scrap reduction).<br />
Measurements are performed by use of four Marposs measuring cells, each provided with one LVDT transducer.<br />
The plug uses a body with fixed nosepiece. In order to protect it from potential collision due to part mis-positioning or part overstock conditions, the plug requires mounting to rigid recoiling devices.<br />
In the diameter range from 22 to 80 mm the gauge plug is provided with cleaning air nozzles in the measuring section while in the diameter range from 16 to 22 mm the cleaning air flow is offset and located in proximity of the gauge fingers (the air inlet is always at 180¬? with respect to the junction box).<br />
It can be connected to E9066N electronic unit for complex applications or applications for which statistical analysis is required and to E3 family electronic units for simple applications.<br />
Side-by-side assembled on the machine, the gauge plugs can measure bores having minimum center distance of 71 mm.</span></span><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: #006699;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,Arial,helvetica,sans-serif; color: #000000; font-size: xx-small;"> </span></span></p>

<p>M100 is an automated inspection system for brake disks, brake drums and hubs.<br />
The system can satisfy all the typical dimensional and geometric gauging requirements. Besides gauging, functions like non destructive (ND) testing, marking and parts segregation may be easily integrated to the basic machine.</p>
<p>Ease of maintenance and high gauging performances are obtained thanks to the most appropriate design and manufacturing technologies. This industrialization is also intended to minimize line down time in case of intervention.</p>
<p>The M100 is a gauging system based on a standard modular architecture; it can be easily tailored to solve any typical application on brake disks, drums and hubs. The system has been conceived for on-line automatic inspection, where dimensional and geometrical checks are performed dynamically at various machining stages, either inter-operational or final inspection.</p>

The plug guarantees reliability and process productivity improvements by automation of the process itself including part measurement and closed loop feedback to the machine tool (compensation of tool wear, improvement of overall machining time and scrap reduction).<br />
The standard plug includes three bodies to cover the measuring ranges 13-21 mm, 21-45 mm and 45-140 mm and uses tungsten carbide or diamond contacts depending on the material of the part being inspected.<br />
The plug nosepiece can be provided with or without a self-centering function, while the measurement is always performed using Marposs LVDT transducer technology. Floating or rigid recoil devices can be provided to protect the plug body from potential damaging collisions that could result from a mis-positioned part or part overstock conditions. The plug can be fitted with air blow offs for part cleaning before inspection.<br />
The E9066N is utilized for measurement acquisition in complex applications or an application for which statistical analysis is required and the E3 family of electronics is used in simple applications.?Ç¬†</p>

The manual plug is provided with an annular slit jet to check the valve seat combination errors of roundness and seat angle. The E4N column display gives measure of air leakage between the conical reference of the plug and the valve seat. Exceeding upper leakage limit (approximately 400 cm3 / min) indicates shape error.</p>
<p>Complete<br />
The leakage plug, is interfaced with the microprocessor E4N AIR column. &#8220;Zero leakage&#8221; &#8220;Maximum leakage&#8221; masters are always supplied with the manual gauge. The proposed solution permits a 100% check of all parts, allowing quality control of the entire production.</p>

<p>The system is composed of dedicated, stackable modules to manage analog sensors and digital Input/Output signals.</p>
<p>All modules are daisy-chained together and exchange measurement data, programming data and I/O signals with the E9066T™ Industrial PC through an USB or a simple RS232 serial link. Any commercial PC can also be used.</p>
<p>The system allows direct interfacing and data collection from TESTAR probes or measuring cells, and from a wide variety of third party sensors.</p>
